Bringing to light unconventional cultures from everyday life, defined by deconstructed, uniform-like silhouettes, and nuanced with elements of rebellion, Margn focuses on conscious humanwear.
The brand was founded in 2020 by designers Ranjit Yadav and Saurabh Maurya, launching its capsule collection the following year. Margn lives by the notion ‘Freedom in Discipline’. Growing up in small towns of rural India, from the functional garments worn by farmers, to worn-out garments with patchwork, to uniforms worn at school, their humble and disciplined upbringing has trickled into their designs. As a student, Saurabh recalls being bewildered by the observation that although each student wore the same uniform, they all looked different because of their individual identities always showing through.
Margn explores new ideas around masculinity and identity. In the modern world, where gender isn’t a binary construct but a free-flowing cascade, Margn envisions creating clothing with masculinity as a characteristic rather than a gender trait.
