Diving Into the “World of Uniforms” With Blauer

Exhibitors Spotlight focuses on a selection of brands exhibiting at this year's Pitti Uomo, showcasing their upcoming collections and special upcoming projects.

“The uniforms of the American Army and other forces have always been a great passion of mine,” says FGF President and Blauer designer, Enzo Fusco. The appreciation of uniforms has been at the heart of the Blauer brand since it was founded in Bostom back in 1936. Originally, it was a technical clothing supplier, outfitting the police, the navy, and other armed forces with functional, quality garments. While Blauer looks much different today, its initial mission is evoked through every piece of clothing the label creates.
For FW22, Fusco continues, “inspiration once again comes from the ‘world of uniforms’ and from the latest weather-related trends, which change from year to year. An example is [our] new B. Tactical capsule. Drawing inspiration from the military heritage of US Army uniforms, the garments are revisited with materials, technical details, and volumes designed to appeal to fashion-conscious consumers.”
Also new to this season are the reversible down-filled jackets, which arrive in plain or printed neoprene, and the metallic-effect puffer jackets, which are a head-turning way to jump into the current must-have winter silhouette. These new additions sit next to Blauer staples like the sheepskin and leather jackets that were so beloved in previous seasons. Of course, you can also expect to find a wide range of sweaters, pants, T-shirts, and shirts.
Additionally, Blauer is placing extra emphasis on its “Sustainable Code” aka a mission to become increasingly attentive and committed to the search for “green materials.” Thus, it is also introducing a line of outwear with padding made exclusively from recycled materials.
