A Lardini Suit Isn’t Just a Suit, It’s a Lifestyle

Exhibitors Spotlight focuses on a selection of brands exhibiting at this year's Pitti Uomo, showcasing their upcoming collections and special upcoming projects.

Since the Lardini siblings launched their eponymous brand back in 1978, the label has evolved from the high-level, third-party textile production company for which it was initially known into a luxury fashion brand in its own right, one that is now renowned for its commitment to the tradition of Italian tailoring.
Still helmed by the Lardini family, the suitmakers have become synonymous with contemporary sophistication. As the brand explains, “Elegant clothing, such as a suit, greatly influences the lifestyle of men — especially in the Lardini man. It is a philosophy of life. Elegance influences making you feel good. Elegance gives you security. Elegance makes you feel important in any place and on any occasion. And the most elegant signature is the ability of each one to personalize it with details, personality and feel safe with it.”

Naturally, when one talks of personality they are also talking of attitude, which is one of the grounding elements in the brand’s FW22  collection alongside color (the collection is literally called COLORS ATTITUDE). “The new attitude of the Lardini man is represented by the use of color as a form of distinction,” the brand continues, “as a manifesto of uniqueness. The primary source of inspiration comes from the desire for redemption against a dark period that we have faced with the pandemic in the last two years. A need from these difficult moments has been the desire to look for color, to go back to dressing well, and find the right attitude to face our life, not a life that is constrained as we have suffered in recent years, but rather a life open to the world.”
This season, the key pieces are iconic and luxurious — think blazers and velvet suits, both smooth and ribbed, printed or featuring lasered detailing. You will also find large, contemporary coats built from exclusive fabrics and the Lardini trouser, “enriched with a new model born from the base of British tradition, Suez, and is characterized by check fabrics created specifically with shades of the collection.”
Elsewhere, the LIKNIT Jackets are an exclusive Lardini project that combines the company’s inimitable style with technology. The pieces are created from carded knitwear and are ultralight, incorporating a new knitting technique called Raschel, which is able to expand natural and twisted cashmere and Alpaca yarn. The brand will be continuing to develop the LIKNIT project this season along with the expansion of its Easy Wear Project, which makes taking care of your clothes quicker and easier for hassle-free life.
