Buyers Select focuses on key buyers, who share their ten favourite pieces from Pitti Connect brands.

Canadian entrepreneur Robert Hirsh founded Silver Deer in 2012. The Mexico-based concept store has become the reference point for independent men’s fashion, praised by both local and international media due to its eclectic range of highly curated brands.

Founded after Hirsh saw a gap in the market, the former banker decided to move into retail, focusing on the men's multi-brands sector. Based on a simple concept of a store where Hirsh himself wanted 'to buy stuff from', the contemporary-lux retail experience Silver Deer was formed.

A fan of classic British shoes, Hirsh grew up wearing heritage brands such as Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers. During the pandemic, Hirsh has taken a break from the digital overload, reading 2-3 books a month, finding peace in non-fiction history.

We speak to the banker turned buyer, who expands on his 9 favorite pieces from Pitti Connect brands.
Alessandro Gherardi

Under the radar family-owned shirt makers, Alessandro and Paolo Gherardi produce enviable quality shirts with strong tradition and innovation under their brand name. They are one of the largest private label shirt manufacturers in Italy, including private label services for a shop I know in Mexico City - a good source for the gentleman who is searching for the perfect shirt, offering great value for money.

Faliero Sarti

They have a historic tradition and it’s a family business since 1949. No matter the climate, these are instant classic scarves. Easy to layer, with different sizes, one color or asymmetrical patterns, wool-blend, cashmere, silk, linen-angora - they have what you need. Easy to put on and to put off, a cozy fit scarf, pocket square, or bandana is a great piece to add character for the young and old with any outfit.
Lardini

Quality, fabrics, consistently fashion-forward, and with a great fit, year in and year out, you know what you’re getting when you purchase a Lardini sport jacket. Lardini is there to meet your clothing needs and we have been stocking it since FW15. The Lardini family certainly knows how to make a jacket and a suit look good on anyone.
Edward Green

One of the classics, just like Jane Austen and Henry VIII. I visited the factory a couple of times when I was trying to decide which English brands to stock. When I was researching the brand, I was pleasantly surprised to meet Hillary Freeman, the managing director, a non-nonsense English lady selling men’s shoes. Each shoe is cut by hand from the world’s finest leathers and every pair of Edward Greens is made in their Northampton workshop according to the same principles that have guided them for over a century. Crafted and honed with unerring attention to detail, a pair of Edward Green shoes embody the timeless elegance of quintessentially English style and will definitely last a lifetime or two.

Kiton

In FW 2016 I was buying Kired in Palazzo Kiton in Milan and I was accidentally introduced to Ciro Paone and his nephew Antonio de Matteis. That was the beginning of my love story with Kiton. The best fabrics, linen, silk, cashmere, color palette, green, red, brown. Hand-made in Naples, the best work, the best fit, and the amazing staff at cafeteria Rosetta. The best restaurant in Milan at the Palazzo Kiton in Brera, where you will find this very tight and well-dressed band of brothers breaking bread on the daily sport of sprezzatura in Milan.

Herno Laminar

After Herno broke out into the world, I started stocking them in FW13. They have history, tradition, and values, and this is what I’m looking for. With the introduction of Herno Laminar performance outerwear for urban environments, which is 100% on trend and comfort-driven, incorporating great fabrics such as Gore-Tex. Its luxurious weather-proof designs are sophisticated and practical, great for the city dweller who needs to dress up or down.
Paraboot

100 years of history, quality, family values, and made in France, it’s a small slice of the French shoe industry. Old school French Preppy models like the Chambord and the Michael, offered in many colorways. The Chambord is timeless style and it's returned to remarkable popularity with today's contemporary look. It has been one of my favorites for the past 20 years and will be for the next 30 years.
FPM Fabbrica Pelletterie Milano

If you're looking for the next Rimowa, and don’t want to end up with another passenger bag at Charles de Gaulle or Linate, check out FPM's 74 years of history for your next luggage purchase. I am a fan of the FPM Bank Spinner 53 model in matte aluminum, made in Italy, it's ideal for 2/3-day trips.
Ten C

Alessandro Pungetti and Paul Harvey founded Ten C after co-designing for C.P. Company. Pungetti’s depth of experience pairs well with Harvey’s design history at Stone Island. The marriage of both skillsets is evident in the product. There's a clear wink to Danish style, with a strong Japanese spirit. There’s no way not to admire what they do, all customizable, ageless, manufactured with care.
