After eight years of preparation, we are thrilled to present SEWMOD’s debut collection. Clothing is the vessel of fashion and art, and through the photographer’s lens, we hope to showcase SEWMOD’s philosophy of crafting every garment with care and artistry.
The story of SEWMOD began in 2016 when Mr. Wu Qiuxiong established the brand in Guangzhou. Why did it take until now to present it to the world? Because we have been patiently refining our craft, ensuring that only the very best, polished through countless efforts, is ready to share with you.
The Fruit of 18 Years of Dedication
Our journey is a classic tale of starting from scratch. In 2006, driven by the idealism of an artist, Qiuxiong sought to find balance between dreams and reality. Faced with the choice between continuing to paint or venturing into fashion, he chose the latter. At the time, China’s economy was rapidly expanding, but its growth came at a significant environmental and personal cost. In an era where mass production and low prices defined the fashion industry, we, as idealistic youth, charted a different path for SEWMOD: “No expense spared, make one perfect garment.”
Our guiding principles emerged: natural, comfortable, quiet, yet inherently luxurious and sophisticated. After 18 years of dedication, we are deeply grateful to the era and the opportunities it has afforded us. The fashion industry has made room for us to share our vision.
At first, you can imagine how challenging it was for such an idealistic approach to yield quick commercial returns. This only pushed us to be more meticulous in our craft. In our very first collection, every piece of fabric was handwoven, every garment hand-sewn stitch by stitch. The natural hues we carefully selected all echo shades found in nature. Our designer insists that every fabric comes from high-quality natural materials with inherent texture. Thanks to 18 years of expertise and sharp intuition, our designs fit seamlessly across various body types, whether Western or Chinese. Even the slightest imperfections in length or fit are easily detected and adjusted. Every detail, down to the selection of accessories, integrates with the overall style while elevating the garment’s refinement.
A Connection Through Touch
SEWMOD’s garments invite you to touch, wear, and experience them to truly understand their essence. The fusion of natural, traditional materials with contemporary fashion creates a unique dialogue—like Paris itself, where the weight of history and culture collides with the momentum of modernity, resulting in a “feast in motion.”
This is why Paris is a critical stop for SEWMOD. 
In January 2025, SEWMOD will debut its first exhibition at Pitti Uomo in Florence, marking a significant milestone in our journey.”
