Brand Profile
TANGTSUNGCHIEN is an independent fashion label founded by Taiwanese designer Tsung-Chien Tang.
The brand explores contemporary clothing through the dialogue between structure, material, and the human body, positioning fashion as a quiet but precise form of spatial practice.
Rooted in textile experimentation and hand-crafted processes, TANGTSUNGCHIEN approaches garments as flexible structures rather than fixed silhouettes. Techniques such as patchwork, crochet, and layered construction are central to the brand’s approach, emphasizing material tactility and structural flexibility. The brand emphasizes material behavior and subtle tension—between softness and control, exposure and protection.
The designer’s background spans Taiwan and France. He studied textile and fashion design at École Duperré and the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) in Paris, was a finalist of the 34th Festival d’Hyères, and gained professional experience at LOEWE Knitwear. This cross-cultural experience informs the brand’s balance between structural rigor and poetic restraint. While connected to Taiwanese sensibilities, the brand translates lived experience into material logic and form, focusing on how garments interact with the body, movement, and space.
Collections are developed as ongoing research rather than seasonal statements, often extending across menswear and womenswear through a gender-inclusive approach. Garments are designed to be worn intuitively, allowing the wearer to define their own relationship with the piece.
TANGTSUNGCHIEN positions fashion as a space between body and environment—where clothing becomes an interface that holds, reveals, and negotiates presence.
