Edition 109
04.11.2025
New announcement in the special events program for the upcoming edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo 109 (Florence, January 13–16, 2026).
The protagonist of January’s Special Event will be Japanese designer Shinya Kozuka, the creative force and founder of the eponymous brand SHINYAKOZUKA. On this occasion, the Tokyo-based designer will present a special project-event in Florence, in collaboration with the Japan Fashion Week Organization.
More menswear, as interpreted by Shinya Kozuka, a designer of great skill and strong personality.
From one collection to the next, the Osaka-born designer explores – deliberately in an elusive way – the subtle boundaries between expression and individuality, between defined forms and modern fluidity. We are fascinated by the painterly intuition at the heart of his work, and by the non-dogmatic vision that leads him to explore and reconcile worlds that are often far apart.  The unique atmospheres of Tokyo coexist effortlessly with the functionality of workwear, hand-painted silhouettes with traditional Japanese uniforms, craftsmanship with personal sensibility. We can’t wait to discover what SHINYAKOZUKA is creating for his event in Florence next January.

— Francesca Tacconi, Special Events Coordinator at Pitti Immagine

My design journey began in my hometown, Osaka—seeded in London, watered in Paris, and taking shape in Tokyo. Now, Florence opens another beautiful chapter. I am deeply grateful for this new land and the great honor of being part of Pitti Immagine Uomo.

— Shinya Kozuka

ABOUT
In 2013, Shinya Kozuka graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. After returning to Japan, in 2015, the designer started his eponymous brand SHINYAKOZUKA  and won the TOKYO FASHION AWARD in 2023.
In the brand’s concept – “Picturesque Scenery” – the reference to painterly landscape scenes is essential. The designer’s inspirations and thoughts are depicted in drawings and paintings, with each collection drawing from the scenes in these artworks.
