If Japanese Pitti Family were in the 100th Anniversary featured by Men’s EX
While Pitti 100 is to be held in Florence this summer, the Japan team will be watching from Japan. Here is a collection of heartfelt and loving messages for Pitti from those who are, albeit temporarily, separated from it.
Pitti represents my workplace, my motivation, and my lifework. While everything is changing in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, we need to enjoy dressing up and having others to see, and I think it is the supportive action. I will keep giving my best and I hope to be at Pitti in coming another 100th year!

— Kenji Kaga, President, SEVEN FOLD

Florence, where I studied abroad, is where I feel at home and my love for Italy remains very strong. I strongly hope that politics will not have a negative impact on fashion. In Bocca al Lupo (best of luck)!

— Keita Arai, PR Leader, Barneys New York

I first attended Pitti when I was 25, and I was shocked and then fascinated by the Italian culture, people, and food that I encountered there. I very much look forward to being inspired once again by the Pitti that I have so much love for.

— Tomohiro Oshuya, Wholesale Department, Sales HQ, STRASBURGO

These days I really miss the Pitti’s organizers and the lively atmosphere at the venue. For me, Pitti is the only venue where all my friends from around the world gather together. I hope that the event is able to start up like before again as soon as possible.

— Yasuto Kamoshita, Representative Director, Office Camoshita

Not a day goes by where I am not hoping for a swift end to the pandemic. I hope we can get through this together until the day we can see the smiling faces of our friends from around the world. I hope to see everyone again in Italy hopefully in the next year!

— Shuhei Nishiguchi, Director, Beams F

In a time when there is so much doom and gloom, I think that clothing is something that can put a smile on everyone’s face. I hope that the world will soon once again be a place where people can hold events with peace of mind in order to support clothing creators.

— Hiroyuki Kaji, Filorosso

I totally recognized how extremely valuable to have such a large number of men's brands in one place, and to have an environment where people in the fashion industry could gather. I’m really looking forward to seeing fashion and new concepts from everyone which have gone on to new heights after a difficult buildup period.

— Osamu Shibatani, Director, edit & co.

Pitti always brings new discoveries whenever I go. It is the source of new ideas, and an irreplaceable venue for meeting new people. I hope that I have another chance to interact with everyone and share their intense passion for clothes.

— Yuki Yamaura, Personal Order Salon Buyer, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store

I have no doubt Pitti Uomo is the one to open Men’s fashion season. Like the shifting from paper to social media, I believe this fair for better or worse, is where a range of brands and information intersect.

— Hiroshi Abe, Marketing Director, Legare

It’s such a shame that for a while I have not been able to go to the event that I have been attending for more than 20 years, and one that really let me feel the change of season. The information you can obtain at Pitti Uomo is unlimited, and I have lots of friends there. I really hope we can get back to normal soon, and to meet my friends.

— Kotaro Shindo, President, Spirale

When I first went to Pitti I was very impressed in the way people wore beige or khaki in such a gorgeous way. There, I found out just how much depth dressing fashion had. I hope that Pitti continues to be a place where people in the fashion industry always aspire to.

— Hiroshi Kanemura, Manager, STRASBURGO Ginza Store

I would not exist in my current form if Pitti doesn’t exist, and I have a full feeling of attachment and gratitude for it. I hope we can continue to support each other and boost the industry as we did last year with the “Siamo Vicini” project to support Italy.

— Tomoyoshi Takada, Fashion Creator

As the world fights to get back to normal, Pitti is the place that made me want to work while considering what we can do for each other every day despite the fact that we are far away from each other. I look forward to the day when I can again encounter new inspiration.

— Yusuke Fukushima, Men’s Dress Buyer, Nano Universe

After overcoming the adversity we currently face, I believe Pitti will be an event with a new kind of appeal. Now, as we do what we can do every day, and I look forward to the day when we can join in laughter.

— Junpei Kobayashi, Beams Press

In a world where people are questioning the meaning of physical exhibitions, but the importance of Pitti to the clothing industry remains unchanged. I hope that we can again rejoice at our health with our friends around the world and disseminate new values.

— Takahiro Ohashi, Head of Department, SDI

Through my visit at Pitti for almost 10 years I've been able to connect with people from all over the world via the common language of fashion, and I've leveraged these connections in creating the Men’s Ex magazine. With this old fashioned way of doing things; analog communication, I will continue to cherish this warmest bonds I have made.

— Kanae Hirasawa, Editor, MEN’S EX
