People of Shibuya’s SS22 collection

Exhibitors Spotlight focuses on a selection of brands exhibiting at this year's Pitti Uomo, showcasing their upcoming collections and special upcoming projects.

Summer in the city sets the scene for a quotidian made up of a rich kaleidoscope of climates, unforeseen experiences, and everyday activities — an environment that must be accommodated by versatile and polyvalent sartorial options.
If streetwear has been more present than ever this season, we’ve seen it take multiple forms, weaving in and out of different trends and styles, for an unprecedentedly adaptable result.
Inspired by the dynamism and energy of the Japanese district of Shibuya, urban outerwear label People of Shibuya was founded by Angelo Loffredo, Luca Orsatti, and Marco Locatelli in 2014. The label is today available in 680 multi-brand stores across Italy and the world, and has, over the course of the past years, established itself as a brand highly attuned to the needs and demands of the contemporary lifestyle, with particular concern for the performance and mobility requirements of all contexts and climatic conditions.
This season, People of Shibuya is redirecting the brand’s expertise — developed and strengthened by accommodating the winter climate — into a broader and deeper vision of a summer wardrobe suited for all urban and natural outdoor life experiences. From transitional pieces to the proposals for the late season, the basic concept of the new “urban technical focus” makes the Italian brand’s line even more avant-garde, accentuating the research on shapes, on fabrics, on details, and on the color impact, and implementing the use of premium materials including the PrimaLoft, GORE-TEX, and blends of nylon and cotton finished with all-weather treatments, carbon zips, and protective fillings.
The People of Shibuya SS22 collection also includes an all-black capsule of urban activewear, and the brand’s first sustainably produced, Made in Italy denim line, designed with an artisanal approach to utilitarian minimalism. Crisp, prismatic, and subtly futuristic, the Italian label is quietly reinventing the codes of contemporary streetwear.
