Our brand was born in 1986 from the great passion of Angela Carlotto Conti together with his husband Elio Conti. Angela Carlotto Conti was born december 17th, 1919, in the province of Belluno. She started knitting in Milan.

At the age of 19 she moved in Eritrea to join his brother who was a frontline soldier during the World War, and it was here that she met Elio Conti. In 1947 she came back to Sansepolcro with her husband where they founded their textile garment factory.

From the foundation of the company “Supermaglia”, the factory became one of the most prominent realities in the the italian fashion industry. Bramante knitwear has reached fame in Italy and abroad. The brand stands out for its undisputed quality, selecting only quality yarn and wools, such as the 100% Merino Wool Triplo ritorto extra fine yarn, the brand world exclusive.

The surprising success of the brand is linked to the most popular 100% extra fine merino wool yarn, which has unique and superior characteristics compared to any other pure wool yarn. At the origins of Triplo ritorto there is the technical error of a machinist who, about thirty-five years ago, made a mistake in programming the yarn, inserting it in the wrong machine. The result was a much more elastic and compact yarn, consequently more comfortable to wear and with greater resistance to pilling and repeated washing. 
Since then, Bramante has sold over 1 million Triploritorto garments worldwide, thanks to their wearability and durability.

A success that might seem like a fortune, but upon closer inspection it is the result of the determination of a company that has always made the customers needs and the “Made in Italy" tradition and innovation its strengths.
