GUANABANA was born in 2005, by the dream of Almudena Espinosa Caldas: to tell the world the magnificent work 
behind the ancient knitting techniques of Colombian artisans.

Through the years she explored all the ways she could make this happen. And GUANABANA started to grow with product innovation, quality improvement and the purpose of creating a safe and stable job enviroment for artisans. 
She saw the need of bringing to the lights their art and to give them the fair wage they deserve. 

All started with the Wayuús, a tribe that has always stood up to maintain their traditions alive. Our products represents the experiences and the emotions that keeps life moving; moreover Almudena saw the determination they have to see the bright side
of life and achieve better life conditions.

GUANABANA works with more than 1000 artisans in Colombia. 
They bring to life the ideas and new developments that are created in Madrid by our creative team. In every season there is a story we want to tell by our registered patterns and color combinations. 
As a result we have a timeless fashion statement that will remind
 to every person who owns it: Be Positive!

Every item is 100% handmade, we invite you to take a look at the bottom of each bag, we call it the artisans signature, they are all different. Therefore, every piece is unique and exclusive. As for the patterns, they are so well knitted that you can see the bag inside out and you will see the magnificent of the craft work. 
Our bags are made with 1 thread technique, thus, depending on the size, it can take up to 20 days in the making. 
They can be machine washed with cold water and hang to dry. 

GUANABANA makes the difference offering handmade belts crafted by our artisans with egyptian loom. 
The same technique is used for our bracelets. The Argantinas are waterproof.
