Brand Profile
Mii-a love letter to classic French style handwritten with traditional Indian crafts.
Mii is a many-layered love story.
It’s a love story between two people, a glorious passion for the culture of two countries- France and India, and a love letter to classic French style handwritten with traditional Indian crafts.
Bapan Dutta is Indian, Lucie Bourreau is French. They met in 2006 when they studied at the prestigious École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and have been inseparable since then. Partners in love and design, the couple founded Mii in 2012. Mii is an acronym for Made in India, and the two i’s also symbolise the meeting between two countries and two textile designers. Mii’s vision: classic French style, effortless, romantic and artistic, celebrating the individual who leads a busy urban life but is rooted in a profound love for France’s countryside and coast. The effortless grace of Jane Birkin and the cerebral female-centric cinematic vision of Agnes Varda are constant points of reference for Mii. The brand’s customers are confident, independent, highly educated women.
Collections are realised in jewel-like hues or classic neutrals, with exquisite handwoven textiles and embroideries, bright screen and block prints made by Mii’s in-house artisans at their ateliers in Bengal. These are textiles, patterns and textures which are impossible to reproduce with machines.
