Brand Profile
Manifattura Mario Colombo & C., which was founded in Monza in February 1923 by Mario Colombo and initially well-known for the production of work clothes, started to make sportswear after the Second World War and the economic recovery, under the brand name of Colmar (an acronym of the founder’s name, Mario Colombo).
Thanks to the company’s encounter with the champion Zeno Colò, it specialized in skiwear, with them winning together the World Championships in Oslo. Colmar became synonymous with snow and its claim “in case of snow” became a catchphrase in the public’s mind.
In addition to the world of sport, the Colmar Originals line came into being in 2009. It represents the fashion and street-style soul of the company. The collection is the result of research in the brand’s archives and a re- edition of the vintage logo, reinterpreting in a modern way the lines and atmospheres of the historical products.
The success and evolution of Colmar Originals over the seasons have led to the development of a complete collection which, alongside the well-established down jacket, presents products that can complete a wardrobe, creating a genuine total look. The roots and most positive values of sport are not forgotten: on the contrary, lines, materials and fits come from the Colmar DNA and the almost one hundred years of its history.
