Accademia Costume & Moda was founded in Rome in 1964 by Rosana Pistolese, following the initiative of Ente Moda and under the authority of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (Ministerial Decree No. 26645/CF/1964), with the patronage of the Municipality of Rome, the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and E.N.A.L.C., the National Body for the Training of Workers in Commerce.
With campuses in Rome and Milan, ACM has established itself as one of the leading educational centres in the fashion world. It is ranked among the top three fashion schools globally for its BA and Master’s programmes in Fashion Design, according to the 2019 report “The Best Fashion Schools in the World” by Business of Fashion (BoF). The school bases its approach on experimentation, cultural depth, design and craftsmanship, aiming to train professionals capable of responding to the needs of the Fashion System and the Entertainment industry.
The Academy’s alumni have built successful careers in Fashion and Costume, Multimedia Arts, Communication, and Fashion Management. They hold key roles such as Creative Directors, Head and Senior Designers, Product Managers, Fashion Editors, Stylists and Costume Designers for national and international productions.
