Inspired by the high of the climb and connection in the outdoors, Everyday Mountaineering is dedicated to supporting life on the pavement and the alpine.
Designed to feel familiar and unusual at the same time, Everyday Mountaineering is founded by Scott Ferguson. An interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Born in Glasgow, Scotland and raised in a suburb of Houston, Texas, Scott’s formative years daydreaming of hiking in the Scottish Highlands provided the foundation to inspire Everyday Mountaineering. Feeling out of place in a new country, he poured over his father’s climbing books from the ‘60s and ‘70s and found a community at a rock climbing gym in a local strip mall. “Wearing clothes designed with climbing in mind, I was able to create my own world that was comforting no matter where I was. The clothes I wore, like my 800 fill power parka on the coldest days, made me feel connected to the climbing world.” A move to Colorado for art school furthered his exploration of the outdoors. He found inspiration in the traditions of mountaineering that value support and community.
His vision comes to life through high-quality, small run collections that feel familiar, yet special with unusual styling. Designed to keep up with every movement, no matter the intensity, Everyday Mountaineering is built for comfort on the ascent or the commute.
