Lotto Leggenda revamps the iconic brand’s tennis heritage

Exhibitors Spotlight focuses on a selection of brands exhibiting at this year's Pitti Uomo, showcasing their upcoming collections and special upcoming projects.

An undeniable seasonal trend, the prevalence of sportswear, activewear and outerwear isn’t exclusively tied to a resurgence of movement, but also to a boost in our collective mood. Indeed, if the uplifting quality of physical movement is no secret to sports aficionados, the democratization of sportswear has played a significant role in making the drive and enthusiastic mindset of sportsmen an everyday practice.

Iconic tennis label Lotto’s approach has, ever since its founding in 1973, stood by the mantra “sportivamente”, which salutes the joyous, forward-thinking, and optimistic energy of challenging oneself through physical activity. Over the years, the Italian label has fine-tuned its high-performance sector, with a particular focus on footwear and technical-wear aimed at football and tennis professionals. Lotto’s striving for excellence was rewarded by the loyalty of many sporting champions such as Dino Zoff, Ruud Gullit, John Newcombe, Martina Navratilova, Boris Becker, and many others in their fields — all adhering to the brand’s passion, joie de vivre, and unwavering quality.
For SS22, the iconic label revisited its tennis heritage from the 1970s and 1980s — a tradition of minimalism, quality, and cult stylistic appeal. The emblematic pieces of the past come to life, today enhanced and enriched through a new vision mixing technical innovation and refined design, telling an authentic story that maintains the language of reliability and creativity.

The revisited Autograph shoe model blurs the lines between vintage and avant-garde. It interprets the traditional look of Lotto champions of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, transforming it into an up-to-date, original street style.
This season, the new sneaker offering, including the Signature model and the Shibuya-inspired Tokyo line, does more than keep the tradition alive — they energetically bring it back to life, merging sporting soul with a contemporary attitude.
Fittingly titled Lotto Leggenda, the collection “retraces the illustrious history of the brand and presents it in a vintage-inspired street style footwear, with a nostalgic appeal and a clean aesthetic,” explains Lotto’s Head of European Sales, Quintin Donders. A legacy brand for the contemporary sensibility.
