Brand Profile
The Thompson brand was created to bring stylish accessories to every man, from classic cufflinks to cheeky and innovative designs.
Founded in the buzzing heart of
London in 2008 by designer Ariel Thompson who looked to bring modern elements and unusual materials to classic accessories for gentleman for an affordable price. Born and educated in South America, and from a Latin American - English heritage, Ariel worked with Robert Tateossian, founder of Tateossian, to combine the jewellery expertise with his own playful take on design.
Taking inspiration from his travels, with
a passion for design and armed with a
degree in Advertising and Marketing,
Thompson took his first steps into luxury
retail launching his own business in his
home country. He was soon offering world renowned brands, including Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Gianfranco Ferre, to South American consumers.
Ten years later, having made his mark on the South American retail sector, Thompson returned to Europe to develop his creative talent and eye for design in Milan and then in London.
After working in corporate image and as a designer, he honed his skills as an accessory and jewellery designer and became the Creative Director and founder of Thompson London.
Ariel sadly passed away unexpectedly in
July 2020 in his hometown of Asuncion,
and so today, Thompson London continues under the guidance of Robert Tateossian and the Tateossian design team.
Thompson has become synonymous as the brand for every occasion. From a first pair of cufflinks with a youthful touch for a 16th birthday to timeless classics for a wedding day, the collection has been designed to ensure that there is that special piece for everyone. It is the combination of fun, unexpected design elements combined with craftsmanship and impeccable materials that defines Thompson.
The designs each have youthful edge for those starting their jewellery collections or for those who are young at heart, whether it’s stacking bracelets to wear to a summer music festival or a touch of fun to brighten up a business suit.
