PIER Sicilia swimwear line is a project ideally inspired by my grandfather: a man who lived on an island, Sicily, but experienced the world. A sportsman an aesthete. I used to admire the elegant swimsuits he put on to practice water- skiing, which, worn with a shirt, became shorts for a drink at dusk. When, as a boy, I came along with him to his tailor, I remember a woman sewing his swimsuits with the precious fabrics he had chosen. There was so much love in the pursuit of perfection, in the care for details to create unique garments. I wanted to recreate these atmospheres, searching in Sicily for skilled hands that still today know how to make tailored swimsuits. This desire to revive my memories made me collaborate with the best sartorial laboratories. PIER Sicilia bathing suits are contemporary and timeless: with a twist of dandy spirit, a refined style and tailored cuts, comfort and versatility. Patterns and fantasies are not printed, but threads are hand-woven in a wide range of colors. High quality technical materials, which dry quickly, are chosen in terms of resistance.
