Brand Profile
Hancock 1843
Hancock is a collection of timeless, handcrafted pieces blending centuries of heritage and innovation handmade in Scotland.
Each article is meticulously made by specialist coatmakers and tailoring seamstresses using locally sourced wools and natural rubber.
Thomas Hancock revolutionised waterproof outerwear in 1843 with his method of vulcanised rubber. A partnership with Charles Macintosh, Scottish inventor led to the invention of the original mackintosh coat in Cumbernauld, Scotland, the home in which Hancock 1843 still inhabits.
