Brand Profile
Kennington LTD.
California Culture Since 1957
Born in 1950s Los Angeles, Kennington emerged as a perfect blend of Hollywood glamour and laid-back beach vibes. We transformed the traditional button-up Oxford, introducing bold prints, playful patterns, and distinctive silhouettes that defined a new era of cool.
As LA grew, so did Kennington. Whether paired with OP cord shorts or classic 501s, our shirts quickly became an essential part of California style. But we didn’t stop at the city streets—we took our threads to the coast. Partnering with the Malibu Surfing Association, we brought the iconic terry cloth tops to the beach, offering surfers the perfect post-wave layer.
Kennington was also part of the first wave of Western wear, crafting shirts with signature details like smiling pockets and quilted yokes, redefining basics into statement pieces.
Our innovation didn’t go unnoticed. Kennington became the first Disney licensee, creating stylish rayon shirts adorned with Mickey and Minnie, featuring slim fits and wide collars that paired perfectly with 501s and bell-bottoms alike.
We’ve never been about fast fashion. Kennington shirts are made to last—both in construction and in timeless style. Today, our vintage pieces remain sought-after treasures in vintage stores and online.
Staying true to our heritage while embracing sustainability, we now incorporate recycled yarns from Spain. These are crafted from ground-up garments, spun into yarn, and transformed into the “Funky and Groovy Threads” we’re known for.
From our rich history to our forward-thinking future, Kennington continues to celebrate California culture, one iconic shirt at a time.
