Brand Profile
In 1891, Piero Martegani, a leather merchant, embraced his passion for footwear and acquired a footwear company with some partners. From that moment, he embarked on his extraordinary journey into the world of shoes. Through colossal efforts, he gradually built what now stands as the epitome of luxury footwear, entirely handcrafted and labeled “Made in Italy.”
Martegani’s story intertwined with that of the Corti family. Mario and Silvio Corti opened a small artisanal footwear factory in the 1950s. They dedicated heart and soul to perfecting the production process.
Giancarlo and Aldo, sons of Mario Corti, devoted much of their lives to producing and distributing Martegani shoes until, in the 2000s, they decided to take over the company. Despite the challenges encountered, the passion of the Corti family enabled them to continue shoe production with love and dedication.
Giancarlo Corti passed on his passion to his daughter Nicole, who, from childhood, loved spending time in the factory alongside her father, crafting toy shoes for her dolls using leather scraps. After studying footwear design and modeling, she decided to join the company, bringing modern innovation to honor her family’s history and legacy.
Today, Martegani remains the emblem of artisanal luxury footwear “Made in Italy.” Its signature lies in attention to detail, meticulous leather selection, the constant pursuit of the highest quality, and the fusion of historical artisanal experience with the courage to explore. The footwear embodies a blend of tradition and innovation, offering constant reinterpretations of the primary material: leather.
Each shoe crafted in the Martegani factory is made with the love and attention required to make each product unique.
