Paris, 1978. Philippe Model founds the Brand as an extension of his aesthetic research, an encapsulation of his know-how; a challenge to the fashion establishment. “Philippe Model Paris” brand has its roots in the creative genius of the homonym French designer who has earned himself a leading position amongst the great names of fashion in the world. Philippe Model was only 22 when launched his brand and started to work with some of the most important French couturiers, including Jean-Paul Gaultier and Claude Montana
1980s-His consecration as Designer came opening his first “Philippe Model Paris” boutique in the very central Place Marché St Honoré in Paris and being assigned as Artistic Director of some of the most famous fashion houses of the time, from Inèsde la Fressange(1983), Lanvin (1989), Kenzo (1991) and Dior (1994). In the same period Philippe Model launched his iconic shoe, the Elastique, which became the symbol of a modern femininity. In 2008 marked the encounter
between the creative flair of the French designer and the excellence of Italian exclusive know how of the craftsmen in the Riviera del Brenta district (Venice).
In December 2025, the brand was acquired by Swinger International S.p.A., a leader in Italian luxury (also owners of Genny). Under the leadership of President Mathias Facchini, the brand is now accelerating its global positioning within the premium casual luxury segment. Future developments include a strategic expansion into a full lifestyle brand, to encompass ready-to-wear collections alongside its iconic footwear.
