The idea of TBD Eyewear stems from the desire to enhance Italian craftsmanship around the World, giving life to a collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses inspired by the classic Made in Italy tailoring tradition.

Over the past years, our team has worked hard to find a natural, renewable and sustainable alternative to our production to minimize our environmental impact and create an eco-sustainable collection with complete respect for the planet.

2023 marks a turning point in the production of a 100% sustainable concept. TBD Eyewear presents, as an absolute novelty, the usage of bio-based and biodegradable lenses. Both options, eyeglasses and sunglasses, ensure the reduction of plastics in support of natural materials whilst continuing to meet the same quality and durability standards. 

Also, the idea of ​​using bio acetate, a material extracted from cotton and wood fibres, phthalate-free and therefore 100% biodegradable and recyclable, has allowed us to obtain frames with a green soul, unique and resistant while maintaining all the characteristics and performance standards of the traditional acetate.

TBD Eyewear glasses, therefore, go hand in hand with the concept of sustainability and Italian craftsmanship, giving value to the skilled workforce that has always distinguished our country. The products are the result of experience acquired in more than fifty years of activity in a family-run shop. The degree of craftsmanship is very high as the entire production process takes place in Italy, from the acetate plates to the new bio-based lenses, up to the screws, produced by a small Venetian company on moulds recovered from the 1930s.
