Angelo Flaccavento and Luca D’Alena debut capsule collection at Pitti Uomo
A knitwear capsule collection celebrating the strength of intimacy to deliver a message of strong fragility. This is "I Just Don’t Want to Wake Up", a project born from the collaboration between Consinee – world-renown provider of luxurious cashmere fibers
and precious threads – and two Italian creatives: writer and critic Angelo Flaccavento and designer Luca D'Alena. Words and design have come together to create a series of pieces inspired by the idea of creating a safe personal space – drawing on the world of dreams and the fulfilling peace one experiences in bed – within the hustle of public life.
The shapes peek at nightwear and underwear, or explore quilting and padding that recall pillows and blankets, or incorporate folds and imperfections - perhaps suggested in trompe l'oeil by expert jacquards - as if someone had fallen asleep with all the clothes still on. The
volumes instead play with the idea of elongation, contrasted with an enveloping roominess, while the weights swing from very light and almost transparent to tactile, warm and full-bodied.
Designed to be worn in the peace of home as well as on the street, conceived for male but also female bodies, the "I Just Don’t Want to Wake Up" collection has been brought to life with the technical know-how of LOMA, a name synonymous in the knitwear world with innovation, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail.
