Heritage Strikes Back, Baracuta Reimagines Its Iconic History
Exhibitors Spotlight focuses on a selection of brands exhibiting at this year's Pitti Uomo, showcasing their upcoming collections and special upcoming projects.

Steeped in heritage, Baracuta is known for being the original manufacturers of the classic Harrington jacket. Its G9 silhouette has become a cultural statement, famously worn by icons such as James Dean and Steve McQueen.

With nods to collegiate and IVY league references, Baracuta returns with a directional collection for FW 21. Inspired by global references from Great Britain and The United States, the collection draws from both cultures.

The two countries represent fundamental stages in the brand’s history. Great Britain is the motherland of the brand, providing the foundation for the collection’s heritage. On the other hand, the states are represented via classic collegiate styles such as a bold Varsity jacket with custom embroidered details. An iconic piece, the jacket serves as a revised version of Baracuta’s classic G9 jacket. The garment features contrasting sleeves, Fraser Tartan lining, and a special gradient effect to ensure consistency and maximum fidelity to the original garment
Diving into other standout pieces within the collection, the Baracuta Montgomery jacket serves as a daily foundation piece. Initially launched by Marshal during the Second World War, the redesigned outerwear style is made from premium Italian wool, updated with a new logo and embroidered crest.
Fans of Baracuta's five-hundred-striped velvet will gravitate towards the G9 corduroy and the Baracuta Overshirt jacket. Designed in palettes of burgundy, blue, and forest green, the  Baracuta creates a velvet suit in gold and premium orange tones, composed of a double-breasted jacket and coordinated pants.
